What HEIC is, and why it causes trouble

Newer iPhones and iPads save photos as HEIC, a space-saving format. It is great for storage, but many websites, older Windows PCs and email systems cannot open it. A PDF opens everywhere, so combining your photos into a PDF is a reliable way to send them. Common uses are receipts and expense reports, signed forms, ID copies for an application, homework pages, and a photo album to share.

Step by step

  1. Open the Document Suite.Go to imgLop's Images to PDF tool. No account is needed.
  2. Add your photos.Choose your HEIC files, or drag them in. JPG, PNG and WEBP work too, and you can mix formats in one PDF. You can add up to 60 images. Use Add more if you forgot some, or Clear all to start over.
  3. Put the pages in order.Drag a photo to a new spot, or use the Move up and Move down buttons, which are easier on a phone.
  4. Choose the page size.Pick A4 or US Letter for documents you may print, or Fit to image so each page matches its photo with no empty space.
  5. Set orientation and margin.Leave Orientation on Auto so landscape photos get landscape pages. Margin can be None (edge to edge), Small or Normal.
  6. Choose the quality.High keeps the most detail but makes the largest file. Balanced is a good everyday choice. Small file is best when you must stay under an email or upload limit.
  7. Name it and create it.Type a file name, click Create PDF, then Download PDF.

Other ways to do it, and how they compare

On a Mac you can open photos in Preview and export as PDF, and on iPhone you can use Print and pinch to zoom into the preview. These work, but they take more steps with many photos. Online converters are quick, but most upload your files to their servers, which is a poor fit for IDs, medical papers, receipts and contracts. imgLop makes the PDF inside your browser, so the files stay on your device.

Privacy: Nothing you add is uploaded. The PDF is built on your device, and the tool is unlimited and free.
